Today in our section We love the World … we travel to the capital of Russia, where Stradivarius has recently opened a new store. 

Located on the Moscow River and connecting the Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean, Moscow is the most populated city in Europe. It functions as the nucleus for the economy, culture and politics. 

Shopping Experience: 

Apart from the traditional items that can be found in Russian markets, i.e., ceramics, toys and the very famous Matryoshkas (Russian Dolls), Moscow compares to any international capital in terms of fashion and lifestyle. 

Novy Arbat Avenue is a charming and energetic street full of shops. On this street and its surroundings you can enjoy an authentic shopping experience. 

In the Red Square we highlight the GUM, the prestigious Department stores where luxurious boutiques are located. It was designed by the architect Vladimir Shújov in Soviet times. 

Stradivarius has already one store in Moscow, and has recently opened a spectacular store located in Rio Reutov stores. 

Cultural Experience:

Moscow provides great history by simply taking a look at the variety of architectural styles coexisting throughout the city. Therefore, architecture is one of the main protagonists of the city.

The buildings prior to the October Revolution of 1917 or the buildings of the Stalin era stand out for they are dispersed in the historical heart of the city.

In Moscow, architectural works are purely majestic buildings such as the skyscrapers group known as the Seven Sisters.

The Kremlin was the fortress for the czars, surrounded by a wall. Inside are located the palaces of the czars, the Churches of the Annunciation and Ivan III of Russia.

You should not miss the spectacular Monastery of the Trinity and St. Sergius, a building considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

The Red Square holds the Cathedral of St. Basil, one of the most famous buildings in the city. Here we also find the National History Museum, built under the order of Emperor Alexander II.

Regarding modern buildings, the prestigious British architect Norman Foster is responsible for granting a new image to the city working on projects like the Moscow City, a business area located at the skirts of the Moscow River. Here we find the Russia Tower which will be finished by 2011.

If you want to chill out for a while, take a walk down the Gorky Park and check its variety for recreational activities.

In regards to the plastic arts, Moscow offers a wide range of possibilities. You can observe some fresco paintings from artists such as Andrei Rublev. They are located in buildings like the cathedrals of the Kremlin.

You can also visit the National Gallery of Art or walk through the Pushkin Museum, redesigned by Norman Foster, with an extensive collection of Impressionist, Renaissance and Baroque art as well.

Finally, you can also include a visit to the Bolshoi Theater, the emblem of the Arts in Moscow, where you can enjoy the Russian ballet.

Moscow is certainly a city where culture is one of the most important pillars of its history.

If we have not yet convinced you to visit Moscow, we want to add that on New Years it becomes a magical city full of life because it is very important day for Russians.
