TODAY WE FEEL… POSITIVE GENERATION

Inditex and Médicos Sin Fronteras have signed a cooperation agreement to sponsor the Positive Generation project for aid programmes for HIV-positive mothers and children in Zimbabwe.
Inditex’s nearly 2,000 stores in Spain on 15 December will begin selling a playbutton (an MP3 player that looks like a pin-back button badge) pre-loaded with 17 songs by Alejandro Sanz, Juan Luis Guerra, Antonio Carmona, Andrés Calamaro, Carlos Vives and Estrella Morente and travelling choruses from Zimbabwe.
All proceeds from the manufacture and sale of the playbuttons will be donated to Médicos sin Fronteras for a comprehensive campaign to fight AIDS in Zimbabwe.
The project funded by Positive Generation proceeds will be rolled out in 2012 in the rural Zimbabwean region of Tsholotsho and will combine prevention with treatment and healthcare, primarily for HIV-positive mothers, pregnant women and children.

TODAY WE FEEL… Russian ballets

Today in our Today WE FEEL… section we aer moving to Barcelona, where we suggest you a free exhibition dedicated to Diaghilev’s Russian Ballet that takes place at CaixaForum Museum.

The exhibition comes from the Victoria & Albert Museum, in London, and it narrates the artistic trajectory of Diaghilev, who payed so much attention to clothing across dance.

This exhibit embraces the 20 years existence of the Russian ballets in stages and different dance events.

As an important piece of fashion you will also find the creations made by Coco Chanel for the ballet “Le Train Bleau”

According to the Stradivarius spirit, we love that fashion and other artistic forms such as dance and theatre have its own place in museums.

Today WE FEEL… Breakfast at Tiffany´s

Just a few days ago it took place the 50th anniversary of the famous Blake Edwards movie that not only marked a milestone in cinema but also in fashion with Audrey Hepburn´s charismatic performance.

In this wonderful movie, the cinema diva was dressed with amazing clothes from Hurbert de Givenchy and the aura of the movie have pierced screens increasingly a style to follow for other actresses and women.

Although it should be remembered that the movie is an adaptation from the famous book of Truman Capote, a rebel writter taht was an authentic dandy regular in the best New York city parties as the mythic Studio 54 where other characters  from that period as Andy Warhol and the fashion model Bianca Jagger used to come.

Both “Breakfast at Tiffany´s” and that Studio 54 era in Manhattan have made a breakthrough in fashion.

Today in our Today WE FEEL… section we make a tribute to it!

First images of the Stradivarius event at the Milan flagship store!

Last night, March the 8th, a big opening event took place at the Stradivarius flagship store in Milan, located in Corso Buenos Aires. Laura Chiatti was our special sponsor. She is one of the most promising actresses of the new Italian talent generation and, definitely, she is a perfect icon of the Stradivarius style.

There were more than 400 guests attending the event, some of them are some of the most popular faces in Milan. To make the evening enjoyable, a perfect selection of soft music was chosen for the fashion event, which coincided with the International Women´s Day. This event was another proof that Stradivarius has been dedicated to women for more than fifteen years.
